Since 1979, the Bavieri family offers to its customers a product of great quality.
Alfonso Bavieri, entrepreneur of Modena, decided to start a new business dedicated to pork meat processing in Castelnuovo Rangone; here, the meat processing chain developed quickly, since the forties: many piggeries, slaughterhouses and companies for the disposal of waste processing were born in this area.
Prosciuttificio San Francesco found therefore a favorable environment for the development of its business.
The limited artisanal production of the early eighties developed into a modern industrial production, thanks to the commitment and perseverance of the spouses Bavieri, who succeeded in entering the Italian market and broadening their range of sale.
In 1997, the business in Castelnuovo was firmly established. After obtaining the authorization for the production of prosciutto di Modena D.O.P. the entrepreneurial spirit of the owners led them to buy the “Monastero” plant, in Medesano (Parma). The factory has the export license for America and Japan, essential qualifications to satisfy customers and to spread our products around the world.
During the early 2000s, other establishment enlargements were made, allowing to improve part of the production and to keep up with the times and the needs of the market.
Over 2016 we will complete two interventions in the plant of Castelnuovo Rangone, in order enhance the production from the structural, operational and logistical point of view.
