OUR VALUES
“Respecting nature and human work”
«What interests me is not the spatial extension of my factory: it is expanding again! What I aspire to most is to research and meet the needs of customers. I like to follow them well.
My wife Dolores and I embarked on this adventure 40 years ago: they have been 40 years of commitment, great challenges and sacrifices; and it is only through the best product that it is possible to reach the best customers.
In the land on which stands the factory of the Prosciuttificio San Francesco there was, once, the house where I lived with my grandparents. We were Farmers and our Family was very large. My humble roots make me very proud. Despite the troubles, I managed to complete my studies, accumulating as much experience as possible. The favorable geographical location, the support of the family, and the modest finances I had at the time allowed my entrepreneurial mentality to begin to develop.
After a beginning in the small spaces created by my house, the business moved to the shed built in 1979. The headquarters was then expanded in 1984 and then in 1992, the year in which it was decided to place in the courtyard area the statue of San Francesco, created by sculptors Sandrin and Biasia, the University of Padua. Art, poetry and three-dimensionality are useful components in this earthly passage.
In 2000s a substantial expansion was completed that, with the creation of a new salting line and new seasoning cells, has allowed to significantly increase production up to the capacity of 1,200,000 pieces per year!
During 2015, two works were completed in the Castelnuovo Rangone plant, in order to expand the processing premises further improving production from a structural, operational and logistical point of view, but above all qualitative.
We are convinced we have created a truly optimal structure.
The generational exchange is completed: the parents are joined by the children, Licia and Cristiano, the son-in-law, Roberto Catti and the niece, Celeste Catti.»

OUR STORY
-
1979 - The Roots of a DreamIt all began in a small space converted within the home of our founder, Alfonso Bavieri, but the dream quickly took shape: in 1979 the first warehouse of Prosciuttificio San Francesco was built—a milestone that marked our commitment to quality and tradition.
-
1984 - First ExpansionHard work paid off! The company grew, and the facility was expanded to meet the rising demand for a product crafted with passion and dedication.
-
1992 - A Tribute to Art and SpiritualityThe facility was expanded again, and a statue of Saint Francis was installed in the courtyard. The sculpture, created by Sandrin and Biasia from the University of Padua, intertwines art, poetry, and dimension with our story—testifying to deep-rooted values.
-
2000 - Evolution of ProductionWith the addition of a new salting line and aging cells, production reached a capacity of 1,200,000 pieces per year. Our dedication brought us to new heights of excellence.
-
2015 - Innovation and QualityOur commitment to continuous improvement pushed us forward. The Castelnuovo Rangone facility was expanded, optimizing space for more efficient, higher-quality production. Innovation met tradition to deliver a ham with the authentic flavor of over forty years of history.
-
2022 - A Gesture for the CommunityAmong the many social initiatives dear to us, we donated a defibrillator to the Provincial Police as part of the "Closer to the People" project, which also included a BLSD retraining program. A concrete commitment to public safety and well-being.
-
2023 - Sustainable Energy for the FutureWe look to the future responsibly: we installed a photovoltaic system with 3,300 panels—supplied by an Italian company—generating a total of 1.25 megawatts. We continue to invest in quality while staying true to tradition and embracing sustainability.
