Tasty rolls


Asparagus and ham rolls are a tasty appetizer, simple to prepare, but very tasty. They can also be served as an aperitif for 4 people. In this case, cut the rolls into slices and serve with a handful of thyme.

250 gr of asparagus
4 slices of San Francesco ham
2 slices of cheese
Freshly ground black pepper.

Wash the asparagus under running water, remove the white part of the stem, peel the outside with a vegetable peeler. Steam or boil in salted water for 18 minutes. Carefully remove them, put them on a cutting board and cut off the end of the stem, if tough. Then divide them in half. On a cutting board arrange 4 slices of ham, put on each half a slice of cheese and divide the asparagus stems, evenly distributing the tips, which are the most valuable. Roll up the rolls and place them on a small baking sheet. Sprinkle with freshly ground pepper and broil at 200 ° C for 3-5 minutes, until the cheese slices have not started to melt.
